This is the popular Cantonese girl from high school that graduated fifteen years ago. She still has the same hair, same makeup style, same fashion style; from the back you wouldn't be able to tell that she's thirty three and not nineteen. Naturally straight hair curled at the ends, dyed dark brown, the hair so many wanted and imitated. Slight sagging of the skin on her cheeks is the only biophysical evidence of her age. She seemed to be defiantly unaware of this sagging and continued to use youthful blush, though the thickness and length of her mascara application have decreased with the amount of drama in her life.

Today she had on a black TNA coat with no extra furnishings, perhaps an indication that she was indeed no teenager and has a steady job. One hand held onto an equally grown-up item, a Michael Kors handbag--though one could argue that the ridiculously ginormous gold logo charm was an indicator of her undying desire to state her status. On her other hand, the one with the diamond-chunk engagement ring and wedding band on it, she noticed a small cut on the knuckle of her index finger. "It must be from washing last night's dishes," she must have thought to herself as she ran her thumb over the wound. An involuntary wave of self-pity washed over her, but she indulged in it.
Her husband is her fourth boyfriend from university--Sauder grad majoring in management accounting--and treats her with love and plenty of material provisions, but does not talk much. He was popular in university, played intramural volleyball and organized MUNs, but he wasn't popular in high school. The fact that she was is the reason for their unspoken ridge today; he's still somewhat intimidated by the girl of his friends' dreams.
