Skyscrapers

From this angle, it looks like those high-rises are holding up the sky.
From this front porch of this home, looking south, across the valley of unraked lawns and damp fences, they look like bar graphs against the setting sun, benchmarking the successes and failures of their inhabitants.
I'm not in the data base. I don't have a place on the graph.
I peel the edges of my sky from the corner of the sheet. That sensation of unwrapping a new iPad, it avails itself once in a blue moon; once in seven years
